🏡 Backyard Renovation: Day 1 vs. "We'll Be Finished Next Weekend" 😂
A little over a year ago, this backyard looked a lot different.
We started by removing tree stumps, scraping off the old lawn, tearing down a tired fence, and essentially turning the entire yard into a blank canvas. The plan sounded simple enough: build a new fence, install a raised flower bed, pour a patio, lay some sod, and enjoy the finished product.
What I forgot to factor in was my other full-time job... showing houses, listing properties, writing offers, hosting open houses, and helping clients buy and sell real estate. 😅
Some weekends were spent building fences. Other weekends were spent helping families find their next home. A few evenings that were supposed to be "backyard project nights" turned into late-night real estate appointments instead.
The project definitely took longer than expected, but looking back, that's part of what makes it special. Every section of this yard represents a few hours stolen between showings, possession days, phone calls, and paperwork.
It's not perfect, but it's ours. And seeing where we started compared to where we are today makes all the hard work worth it.
Now the only question is... what project am I going to convince Cynthia to let me start next? 😂

🚨 One of the coolest things I've seen all year... and it wasn't a house. 🚨
One of the best parts of my job is meeting interesting people from all walks of life. Today, while meeting with a potential client about selling some property, I got a behind-the-scenes look at a project he's been working on—and I was blown away.
This local Lloydminster craftsman took a classic truck and transformed it into an incredible entertainment centerpiece. With the push of a remote, a hidden TV rises up and a custom-built bar is revealed. The detail, engineering, and creativity that went into this build are absolutely remarkable.
As someone who spends a lot of time touring homes, shops, garages, and acreages, I can honestly say this would be the ultimate conversation piece. Whether it's a dream garage, a large shop, a recreation room, or even a business space, this thing demands attention.
I love highlighting the talented people we have in our community. Lloydminster is filled with hardworking entrepreneurs, tradespeople, and creators doing amazing things, and this project is a perfect example of the skill and craftsmanship that exists right here in our backyard.
